Helicopter triggers randomly between 1 and 4 times, in 40 minute intervals. Zombies will remain moving for a while, per sandbox settings. So let's say you wait 2 hours. You can then assess the situation depending on how many zombies are around your location. Maybe you can kill the zombies without much fuss.
